What's New in the Fi Series 3+
The Series 3+ launched in June 2025 as Fi's most significant update since the Series 3 redesign. The physical collar looks nearly identical to the Series 3 — same slim stainless steel frame, same comfortable profile — but the internals got a meaningful upgrade. Fi doubled the GPS signal sensitivity, which translates to faster escape alerts and more accurate location pings, especially in rural or low-connectivity areas.
The bigger story is the AI layer. Fi spent over two years training proprietary algorithms on behavioral data from hundreds of dog breeds at their training centers. The result: the Series 3+ can detect barking, licking, scratching, eating, and drinking with approximately 80% accuracy, according to Fi. These behaviors are tracked over time so you can spot trends — a sudden increase in scratching could point to allergies, or a drop in drinking might signal a problem worth a vet call.
New Apple Watch integration lets you check your dog's location and activity from your wrist without pulling out your phone. Fi also added Smart Vet Records, which uses AI to sort and summarize uploaded health documents like vaccine records and insurance paperwork into one organized place in the app.
